My journey from an honorable law enforcement officer to a point where I grappled with my own coping mechanisms is a testament to the silent battles many of us face. The harsh realities of my choices tore my family apart and led to the loss of a multi-million dollar business that once symbolized my success. In the aftermath, I found myself ensnared in a cycle of hypervigilance long after my law enforcement days were over, isolating myself from family and friends and refusing the help I desperately needed.
This period of isolation and loss is not just my story but a cautionary tale I share with a heavy heart. Through my writing, I aim to lay bare the raw and unvarnished truths of my past, not to dwell on the pain but to light a path for others. My books are crafted with honesty, detailing the stark realities of falling prey to the very mechanisms meant to protect us. I fervently hope that by sharing my experiences, other first responders will recognize the importance of seeking help, allowing loved ones in, and breaking the cycle of isolation before it takes a toll on their lives as it did on mine.
